Dr. Andrew F. Alexis is the Director of the Skin of Color Center at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital and
an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and
Surgeons in New York City. He received his medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and
Surgeons, and his Master’s of Public Health from Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health.
He completed his dermatology residency at Weill Cornell Medical Center, and a fellowship in dermatopharmacology at
New York University School of Medicine.
Dr. Alexis is a recognized authority in medical and cosmetic dermatology in patients with skin of color.
He has been an investigator in numerous clinical studies, has widely published in the peer-reviewed literature, and
is a frequent lecturer at national and international dermatology meetings.
Dr. Alexis currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Skin of Color Society and is an active member of the
American Academy of Dermatology Diversity Task Force Committee. He is also Past President of the New York Academy of
Medicine Section on Dermatology and Treasurer of the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York.

After receiving her master’s degree in microbiology from Boston University, Dr. Baldwin spent two
years in clinical research in John David’s immunoparisitology laboratory at Harvard Medical School
before returning to Boston University for her medical training. She completed a medical internship at
Yale New Haven Hospital and then returned to her roots for her dermatology residency and chief residency
at New York University Hospital. Since finishing her residency and obtaining her board certification, she joined the faculty at the
State University of New York at Brooklyn. She is currently an Associate Professor and the Vice Chair of
the Department of Dermatology. Since joining the faculty, she has developed an interest in acne and
rosacea, keloids and sexually transmitted diseases, particularly those caused by the herpes simplex and
human papilloma virus. She has published and lectured extensively on these topics. She is immediate
Past President of the American Acne and Rosacea Society.

Dr. Martin Braun graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1984 after gaining early admission to
the Faculty of Medicine. (He lost the run off for the Rhodes Scholarship, and being 2nd really doesn't count
much in this world!). He subsequently completed his core training in surgery at UBC and decided to enter
the field of emergency medicine rather than surgery. He is board certified in both emergency medicine and
family practice. In 1996, Dr. Braun became the first doctor in Canada to perform laser hair removal, and since then has
developed a large non-surgical cosmetic rejuvenation practice, along with his wife Dr. Susan Braun in

in 2007 he received the ASCDAS Distinguished Service Award.

Drugs in Dermatology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Skin and Aging, Dermanities, and Journal of

Adam Friedman, MD is Director of Dermatologic Research and Clinical Instructor at the Unified Division of Dermatology of

Hema Sundaram, M.D., F.A.A.D. is a Board Certified dermatologist, and the founder and director of her

Guy Webster received a PhD and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania and trained in dermatology at
New York University School of Medicine. He is currently Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Jefferson
Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr Webster’s research interests include acne, rosacea, atopy and psoriasis.
He is the author of over 100 publications focusing mostly on inflammatory and infectious skin diseases.

Susan H. Weinkle, MD is board certified in dermatology. She is a fellow of the American College of
Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Weinkle graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida in 1978 and completed her
residency in dermatology at Stanford University Hospital Center in 1982, where she held the position of
Chief Resident. Dr. Weinkle has been in solo private practice since 1984, specializing in Mohs
micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology. She has held academic appointments at
Stanford University Hospital, the University of California Irvine Medical Center and most recently at
the University of South Florida. Dr. Weinkle also serves on the Board of Directors of the
American Academy of Dermatology and is a medical editor for the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology.
